It’s not until the lines appear that caring for the skin becomes an obsession.
However, if you start early, you may have a better chance at prolonging the wrinkles and lines. Let’s not fool ourselves here. Creams feel great and help smooth the lines, but aging is inevitable. Using a skin care regime can make you feel youthful and have glowing skin, so it’s good to do!

Massage and Moisturize

Always take the time to massage your skin while applying a moisturizer. This habit will help improve the flow of lymphatic fluid around your skin. Moisturize your skin as soon as you are done cleansing and toning.

Moisturizing certainly helps especially if you have mature skin, which is more prone to the drying effects of any chemicals and other substances.

Cut Back on Alcohol

If you have been a regular drinker of alcohol, now is the time to minimize if not eliminate the habit. Years of alcohol consumption may cause your blood vessels to dilate, which can give your skin that reddish, old look.

Plus, research shows that once you reach the age of 30, your skin’s ability to recover from the effects of alcohol consumption lessens.

Forget About Smoking

Smoking can certainly make you look several years older. Each cigarette stick is a plethora of chemicals that damages your skin’s collagen. It dehydrates the watery gel that is found inside the skin which is responsible for giving your skin that plump, bouncy look.

The nicotine content of cigarettes or tobacco has been found to deprive the skin dermis of its much needed oxygen-rich blood. This may lead to flaky, dry skin that is more susceptible to the effects of external stressors.

Avoid Too Much Skin Exposure

A skin that looks somewhat yellow or grey is usually a consequence of too much exposure to the sun’s rays. This occurs because sun exposure enables the cells of the skin to produce more pigment, so over time a mottled appearance and/or uneven tone will become more obvious. You might look great in your bikini now…

…but you’ll pay the price later!

Don’t Forget Your Hands

The hands are often missed in any beauty routine. They can give away your age quicker than many other parts of your body. They are susceptible to the damaging effects of the sun, chemicals and other pollutants in the environment.

This is why as we age, the hands will more likely to suffer from the loss of plumpness and firmness at a faster rate. Plus, the hands don’t have as many sebaceous glands as those found in the face, which means a depletion of collagen and creepy looking skin can be more apparent faster.
